CESAR Research Associate Dipak Paudel Awarded Prestigious International Fellowship

The Center for Environmental and Sustainable Agricultural Research (CESAR) proudly announces that its Research Associate, Dipak Paudel, has been selected for the highly competitive TWAS–SISSA–Lincei Research Cooperation Visits Programme Fellowship. This recognition places a Nepali researcher among leading international scholars and underscores CESAR’s growing contribution to global scientific collaboration.

Mr. Paudel, currently pursuing his Ph.D. at the Central Department of Chemistry, Tribhuvan University, and serving as an Assistant Professor at Prithvi Narayan Campus, Pokhara, will undertake research collaboration at the University of Trieste in Italy. The fellowship enables advanced scientific exchange and strengthens cooperation between Nepalese institutions and European research centers, reinforcing CESAR’s mission to connect local scientific excellence with global research networks.

At CESAR, Mr. Paudel has played a key role in advancing research on natural products and agricultural resources, with a focus on herbs, spices, and their bioactive compounds. His work contributes to establishing quality control and scientific standardization of Nepal’s diverse natural resources, helping convert traditional knowledge into validated products suitable for pharmaceutical and nutraceutical markets.

During his research visit, Mr. Paudel will further explore chemical fingerprinting and metabolomic analysis of natural products. His work examines how Nepal’s diverse geography influences plant metabolite composition, enabling the identification of marker compounds essential for quality assurance and commercialization. These efforts directly support CESAR’s broader goal of promoting sustainable agricultural science and adding scientific value to indigenous resources.

CESAR anticipates that this collaboration will bring new knowledge, advanced methodologies, and strengthened international partnerships that will benefit students, researchers, and Nepal’s agricultural and environmental sectors. Mr. Paudel’s achievement represents both personal academic excellence and institutional progress in positioning Nepal as an emerging contributor to global scientific research.

CESAR congratulates Dipak Paudel on this outstanding achievement and looks forward to the continued impact of his work on sustainable agricultural development.
