A three-day capacity building workshop titled "AI Training for Government Work" was successfully held from 8–10 Baisakh 2082 (21–23 April 2026) in Pokhara. The training was jointly organised by the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Water Supply, Gandaki Province, under the leadership of Minister Hon. Nanda Prasad Neupane and Secretary Devaraj Niraula, in collaboration with the Centre for Environmental and Sustainable Agricultural Research (CESAR), Pokhara.
The workshop brought together 28 government officials representing water resources, irrigation, and drinking water offices from all 11 districts of Gandaki Province, including engineers and administrative staff from the following offices:
- Water Resources and Irrigation Division Offices: Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta Purba), Gorkha, Lamjung, Tanahun, Syangja, Kaski, Parbat, and Baglung
- Drinking Water and Sanitation Division Offices: Gorkha, Tanahun, Syangja, and Baglung
- Combined Offices: Drinking Water, Water Resources and Irrigation Division Office – Myagdi and Mustang; Drinking Water, Water Resources and Irrigation Sub-Division Office – Manang
- Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Water Supply, Gandaki Province (central team)

This training reflects CESAR's ongoing commitment to building AI literacy within Nepal's government institutions, empowering technical staff to integrate practical AI tools into their day-to-day workflows, from report writing and document management to data analysis and decision support.
