Dr. Mohan Parsad Devkota

Dr. Devkota is an emeritus professor at Tribhuvan University and has over three decades of experience in botany and ecology of Nepal Himalayas. He is still actively involved in teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels in various campuses in Kathmandu. He completed PhD on the mistletoe of Nepal Himalaya [Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) region] from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU University) in Vienna, Austria, in 2003. He is not the only national expert on mistletoe but is also actively involved in this field in the South Asian Region. He has significantly contributed many new records of mistletoe species to the flora of Nepal. He is also a trained environmentalist from Norway and has contributed expertise to various developmental projects in Nepal. Dr. Devkota is involved in collaborative research on community-based carbon offset activities with BOKU University, Vienna, in the Dolakha District of Central Nepal.
