Roopali Bista
Ms. Roopali Bista, a development professional, has a rich academic background and extensive work experience in governance, economics, and social development. She earned a Master's degree in Development and Governance from the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany, in 2020, supported by a scholarship. She also completed a summer course in Political-Economics and Governance Studies at the University of Hong Kong in 2019. Her undergraduate degree is a Bachelor’s in Development Studies from the National College, Kathmandu University, Nepal. Professionally, Roopali has worked with various organizations, focusing on research, project management, and policy analysis. Since December 2022, she has been a Research Officer at South Asia Watch on Trade, Economics, and Environment (SAWTEE) in Kathmandu, where she contributes to project management, stakeholder engagement, report writing, and public events. Previously, she was a researcher at Samriddhi Foundation, leading projects on political-economic affairs and conducting research on business development in Nepal's major cities. Roopali's experience also includes roles at Bikalpa – An Alternative, Save the Children, and Governance Facility, where she engaged in research, project support, and event management. Her publications on governance, business environment, and economic issues reflect her commitment to fostering positive change in her community and beyond.
